This policy explains how Pintop products, services and systems may be used, the activities that are prohibited, and the responsibilities that apply to users.

POLICY SCOPE

Who this policy applies to.

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all users of the software products and services provided by Pintop Technologies Limited, including CoreWave CBA, MeVerify, CoreWave 360 and the Pintop website. By using these services, you agree to comply with this policy. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that Pintop services are used lawfully, ethically and without causing harm to Pintop, its clients or third parties.

A violation may result in restricted access, suspension or termination, depending on the nature and seriousness of the conduct.

Prohibited activities

You may not use the services to engage in any of the activities described below.

2.1

Illegal use

Using the services to violate applicable law in Nigeria or any other jurisdiction where the services are accessed, including money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, identity theft, bribery, corruption, data theft or other criminal activity.

2.2

Unauthorised access

Accessing or attempting to access accounts, systems, data or networks without authorisation; probing, scanning or testing vulnerabilities; bypassing authentication or other security controls; or using stolen, shared or borrowed credentials.

2.3

Interference with services

Disrupting services, servers or networks through malware, viruses, worms, Trojan horses, ransomware, denial-of-service attacks, deliberate overloading, excessive API use beyond allocated limits, or invalid or excessively large data payloads.

2.4

Reverse engineering

Copying, modifying, decompiling, disassembling, reverse engineering or creating derivative works from the services, except where expressly permitted by applicable mandatory law. This includes attempting to derive source code or removing proprietary notices, trademarks or labels.

2.5

Spam and unsolicited communication

Sending unsolicited bulk email, spam or promotional messages through or in connection with the services, or harvesting users’ contact information for unsolicited messaging.

2.6

Impersonation and misrepresentation

Impersonating another person or entity, including a Pintop employee, officer or agent; falsely representing an affiliation; or manipulating identifiers to conceal the origin of content or activity.

2.7

Data scraping and extraction

Using bots, scrapers, spiders, crawlers or other automated means to access, extract or download data without prior written permission, or using the services to obtain third-party data in violation of the applicable source’s terms.

2.8

Content violations

Uploading, transmitting or storing illegal, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing, threatening or privacy-invasive content; distributing copyrighted material without authorisation; or using MeVerify to conduct identity checks without the individual’s knowledge or consent, or for a prohibited purpose.

2.9

Competitive misuse

Accessing the services to build a competing product, conducting competitive benchmarking without prior written consent, or publishing performance data, benchmarks or comparisons without permission.

Security obligations

Users are responsible for taking reasonable measures to protect their accounts, devices, credentials and use of the services.

Monitoring and enforcement

Pintop may monitor use of the services to investigate suspected violations, protect the services and support compliance with this policy.

Where appropriate, Pintop may involve relevant law-enforcement or regulatory authorities.

Reporting violations

Known or suspected violations should be reported promptly. Reports will be handled with appropriate confidentiality.

Report a concern

Pintop staff may also use the Whistleblowing Policy where the report relates to internal conduct.

Consequences of breach

Where a client user violates this policy, Pintop may notify the relevant account administrator. Repeated or serious violations may lead to suspension or termination of access or the affected client account.

A violation by a Pintop employee may be handled as a disciplinary matter, including possible termination of employment.

Enforcement under this policy is in addition to any other rights or remedies available under the Terms of Service or applicable law.

Changes to this policy

Pintop may update this policy from time to time. Material changes may be communicated to account holders by email and published on the Pintop website.

Continued use of the services after the applicable effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
